The bridge is located in the [[Hindu Kush]] mountains and approximately 100km north of [[Band-e Amir]],<ref>{{Cite web|url=https://www.google.com/maps?ie=UTF8&t=h&hq&hnear=Afghanistan&ll=35.289838,67.012911&spn=0.008302,0.021136&z=16|title=Google Maps|website=Google Maps}}</ref> a collection of six deep blue lakes separated by natural dams made of [[travertine]], in the northern edge of [[Bamiyan Province]] in Afghanistan. Hazarchishma natural bridge was discovered in late 2010 by the [[Wildlife Conservation Society]] staff.<ref name="wcs"/>
