He is currently head of rugby operations of [[Leinster Rugby|Leinster]].

His father is English and his mother is Irish.<ref>[https://www.irishtimes.com/sport/adoption-crisis-1.256371 Adoption crisis], [[Irish Times]], 16 March 2000</ref> He is the brother of [[Simon Easterby]], also an Ireland international and the most capped back-rower to come from Yorkshire.

He enjoyed a stint with London Scottish after enjoying his most successful part of his career with [[Rotherham R.U.F.C.|Rotherham]] in the English Premiership and with Leinster in Ireland.
