He and Ramez Idriss co-wrote "The Woody Woodpecker Song" for the 1948 short film, ''Wet Blanket Policy''; the song would receive an Academy Award nomination (Academy Award for Best Original Song),<ref name="1987-02-21 Orlando Sentinel" /> and by June 30, 1948, it was third on the hit parade.<ref name="1948-06-30 Spokane Chronicle" /> Tibbles also composed the theme music for ''Bringing Up Buddy''<ref name="2014 Television Introductions" /> and ''Pistols 'n' Petticoats''.<ref name="1993 Television Character and Story Facts" />
