Storer was the son of Rev. John Storer of Hawksworth, Nottinghamshire and his wife Charlotte Wylde, daughter of Rev. C Wylde rector of St Nicholas Nottingham. He was educated at Louth Grammar School<ref name=Debrett>[https://archive.org/stream/debrettshouseo1881londuoft#page/216/mode/2up House of Commons and the Judicial Bench 1881]</ref> and St John's College, Cambridge.<ref>{{acad|id=STRR833G|name=Storer, George}}</ref> He was a captain in the Leicestershire (Belvoir) Rifle Volunteers and a J.P. for Nottinghamshire.<ref name=Debrett/>
At the 1874 general election Storer was elected unopposed<ref name="craig1832-1885">{{cite book |last=Craig |first=F. W. S. |authorlink= F. W. S. Craig |title=British parliamentary election results 1832–1885 |orig-date=1977 |edition= 2nd |year=1989 |publisher= Parliamentary Research Services |location=Chichester |isbn= 0-900178-26-4 |page=441 }}</ref> as a member of parliament (MP) for Nottinghamshire South.<ref>{{London Gazette |issue= 24064 |date=10 February 1874 |page=592 |city=London }}</ref> He was re-elected in 1880<ref>{{London Gazette |issue= 24833 |date=13 April 1880 |page=2511 |city=London }}</ref> and held the seat until the 1885 general election,<ref name="rayment" /> when the constituency was abolished by the Redistribution of Seats Act 1885.
Storer died at the age of 73.
Storer married in 1859 Harriette Anne Manson, daughter of Moffat Palmer of Horncastle and widow of D Manson of Spyrie.<ref name=Debrett/>
