He worked in the households of Wilhelm von Humboldt and Johann Wolfgang von Goethe.
==Biography== Riemer was born at Glatz. He studied theology and philology at Halle, was a tutor in the family of Wilhelm von Humboldt from 1801 to 1803, and then for nine years lived with Goethe as his literary assistant<ref>{{Cite web|url=http://business-and-science.de/ghostwriter-von-goethe|title=Ghostwriter von Goethe - Business And Science|language=de-DE|access-date=2016-09-21|archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20171216091501/https://business-and-science.de/ghostwriter-von-goethe/|archive-date=16 December 2017|url-status=dead}}</ref> and his son's tutor. ==Works== Riemer published some poetry, a Greek lexicon (1802–04),<ref name=AD/> and [https://archive.org/details/mitteilungenbe00riem ''Mitteilungen über Goethe''] (Notifications of Goethe, 1841).
