'''FC Gagra''' ({{lang-ka|საფეხბურთო კლუბი გაგრა}}) is a Georgian professional football club which competes in the Erovnuli Liga, the first tier of Georgian football.
The club has its origins in Gagra, Abkhazia. It was founded in Tbilisi by former player and coach Goderdzi Chikhradze and his cousin in 2004 with a plan to move the club to Gagra in the end,<ref>[https://eurasianet.org/displaced-georgians-keep-memories-alive-with-soccer-in-exile Displaced Georgians keep memories alive with soccer in exile] {{Webarchive|url=https://web.archive.org/web/20181214113755/https://eurasianet.org/displaced-georgians-keep-memories-alive-with-soccer-in-exile |date=14 December 2018 }} - Eurasianet</ref> but due to the ongoing Abkhazia conflict the team plays its home games in Tbilisi. FC Gagra is the only non-top flight Georgian team which has twice won the national cup.

alt=|right|thumb|Gagra players in 2010 The new club was formed as FC Gagra in 2004 in Regionuli Liga, where they won promotion to Pirveli Liga. After winning their second-tier division, Gagra lost the promotion play-off in 2005–06 and 2006–07. In 2007–08, they again lost the promotion play-off, but after some withdrawals in the Umaglesi Liga the team was finally promoted.<ref>{{cite web|title=Georgia 2007/08|website=RSSSF|url=https://www.rsssf.org/tablesg/geor08.html|access-date=16 September 2011|archive-date=9 December 2022|archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20221209203850/https://www.rsssf.org/tablesg/geor08.html|url-status=live}}</ref> In the 2008–09 season, the team played in the top league,<ref>{{cite web|title=Zobel backs Dinamo for the double|url=http://www.uefa.com/memberassociations/association=geo/news/newsid=749959.html|archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20121104033845/http://www.uefa.com/memberassociations/association=geo/news/newsid=749959.html|url-status=dead|archive-date=4 November 2012|publisher=UEFA|access-date=16 September 2011|date=16 September 2008}}</ref> but were to be relegated in the end.<ref>{{cite web|title=Season review: Georgia|url=http://www.uefa.com/memberassociations/association=geo/news/newsid=836972.html|publisher=UEFA|access-date=16 September 2011|date=9 June 2009|archive-date=3 March 2017|archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20170303044916/http://www.uefa.com/memberassociations/association=geo/news/newsid=836972.html|url-status=dead}}</ref> Gagra avoided relegation only after higher placed teams withdrew from the league.<ref>{{cite web|title=First division clubs in Europe 2009/10|url=http://www.uefa.com/multimediafiles/download/publications/uefa/uefamedia/87/39/82/873982_download.pdf|publisher=UEFA|access-date=16 September 2011|page=57|archive-date=15 February 2010|archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20100215145948/http://www.uefa.com/multimediafiles/download/publications/uefa/uefamedia/87/39/82/873982_download.pdf|url-status=dead}}</ref>

In every season since their relegation to Liga 2 in 2012, Gagra were considered tough rivals aiming at the first division with 5th place being the worst final position. Overall, the club took part in Erovnuli Liga playoffs six times in sixteen years, although failed to overcome their opponents until 2021 when they beat Shukura and returned to the top flight after a ten-year absence.<ref>{{cite news |title=პლეი-ოფში ეროვნული ლიგის მომავალი მონაწილე გაირკვა |url=https://sportall.ge/fekhburthi/fekhburthii/erovnuli-liga/152624-plei-ofshi-erovnuli-ligis-momavali-monatsile-gairkva.html |access-date=12 Dec 2021 |agency=sportall.ge (in Georgian) |date=12 December 2021}}</ref>
Gagra's performance in the David Kipiani Cup was successful. As a second-division team, they reached the final in 2018 for the second time only to lose in penalty shootout. Two years later, though, they knocked out five clubs, including some of those regarded as contenders for the title, and won the cup without conceding a single goal in 630 minutes.<ref>{{cite web |title=Gagra in Cup tournament |url=https://us.soccerway.com/teams/georgia/fc-gagra/ |website=soccerway |access-date=30 December 2020 |archive-date=29 April 2021 |archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20210429041048/https://us.soccerway.com/teams/georgia/fc-gagra/ |url-status=live }}</ref>

Besides, forward Zurab Museliani, who netted 17 goals, finished among the three top scorers of the season.<ref>{{cite web |title=ჯოვინო, მუსელიანი, მარუშიჩი - ეროვნულ ლიგის ბომბარდირი სამი თავდამსხმელი გახდა |url=https://1tv.ge/news/jovino-museliani-marushichi-erovnul-ligis-bombardiri-sami-tavdamskhmeli-gakhda-1tvsport/ |website=1tv.ge (in Georgian) |access-date=3 December 2023 |archive-date=3 December 2023 |archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20231203115138/https://1tv.ge/news/jovino-museliani-marushichi-erovnul-ligis-bombardiri-sami-tavdamskhmeli-gakhda-1tvsport/ |url-status=live }}</ref> Gagra's junior team also shined. ===European history=== As the winners of the 2010/11 Cup competition, Gagra took part in UEFA Europa League second qualifying round against the high-flying Anorthosis Famagusta.
