'''Elizabeth L. Jockusch''' is an American evolutionary biologist who studies plethodontidae salamanders and other organisms. While working with David Wake and others, she has identified multiple new species of ''Batrachoseps'' salamanders.<ref name=":0" /><ref name=":1">{{Cite journal|last1=Sweet|first1=Samuel S.|last2=Jockusch|first2=Elizabeth L.|date=September 2021|title=A New Relict Species of Slender Salamander (Plethodontidae: Batrachoseps) with a Tiny Range from Point Arguello, California|journal=Ichthyology & Herpetology|volume=109|issue=3|pages=836–850|doi=10.1643/h2020027|s2cid=238638252 |issn=2766-1512|doi-access=free}}</ref> She is the head of the Ecology and Evolutionary Biology department at the University of Connecticut, which she joined in 1999.<ref>{{Cite web |last=Buckley |first=Christine |date=2024-09-25 |title=Meet New Head of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology Elizabeth Jockusch |url=https://today.uconn.edu/2024/09/meet-new-head-of-ecology-and-evolutionary-biology-elizabeth-jockusch/# |access-date=2025-02-03 |website=UConn Today |language=en-US}}</ref> She is also the director of the Jockusch Lab and is currently the department head of the Ecology and Evolutionary Biology Department at the University of Connecticut.<ref>{{Cite web|last=Severance|first=Jaclyn|date=December 9, 2019|title=UConn Study: Wing Genes Responsible for Tiny Treehopper's Extraordinary Helmet|url=https://today.uconn.edu/2019/12/uconn-study-wing-genes-responsible-tiny-treehoppers-extraordinary-helmet/#|url-status=live|access-date=November 27, 2021|website=University of Connecticut|archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20191209185918/https://today.uconn.edu/2019/12/uconn-study-wing-genes-responsible-tiny-treehoppers-extraordinary-helmet/ |archive-date=December 9, 2019 }}</ref><ref>{{Cite web|last=Wu.|first=Katherine J.|date=December 9, 2019|title=Treehoppers' Bizarre, Wondrous Helmets Use Wing Genes to Grow|url=https://www.smithsonianmag.com/science-nature/treehoppers-bizarre-wondrous-helmets-use-wing-genes-grow-180973713/|url-status=live|access-date=November 27, 2021|website=Smithsonian Magazine|archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20191209195735/https://www.smithsonianmag.com/science-nature/treehoppers-bizarre-wondrous-helmets-use-wing-genes-grow-180973713/ |archive-date=December 9, 2019 }}</ref>
