Around 1765 BC, Upi was captured by [[Elam]] after a [[Siege of Upi|siege]]. They then retreated for the rest of the year. Around 1764 BC, [[Yamhad]] sent an army of 10,000 troops to aid [[Old Babylonian Empire|Babylon]] and [[Larsa]],<ref>{{cite book|url=https://books.google.com/books?id=KYxxmRoTfsQC&pg=PA19|title= The Military Establishments at Mari|author= Jack M.
