Coffin won two [[gold medal]]s in the [[1976 Summer Olympics]] in [[Montreal]] riding Bally Cor. He grew up on [[Long Island]], then moved with his family to [[Strafford, Vermont]], but now lives in [[Charlottesville, Virginia]].
