==Description== ''Dryobalanops fusca'' grows as a tree up to {{cvt|60|m|-1}} tall, with a trunk diameter of up to {{cvt|1.5|m|ft|0}}. The dark brown bark is flaky. The leathery leaves are lanceolate and measure up to {{cvt|10|cm|0}} long and to {{cvt|4|cm|1}} wide.The {{plantgloss|inflorescence|inflorescences}} feature lanceolate flowers.<ref name=TFSS/>

==Taxonomy== ''Dryobalanops fusca'' was first described in 1932 by Dutch botanist Dirk Fok van Slooten in the ''Bulletin du Jardin Botanique de Buitenzorg''.<ref name=POWO/> The type specimen was collected in Kalimantan in Borneo. The specific epithet ''fusca'' means 'dark-coloured', referring to the {{plantgloss|indumentum}}.<ref name=TFSS/>
