It was released digitally on 21 September 2009 and follows his No. 1 hits "Holiday" and "Bonkers". It is his first solo song from the album and has to date reached No. 10 in the UK.

The song samples "Dirty Cash (Money Talks)" by the British dance act The Adventures of Stevie V. Dizzee told ''The Sun'' that the song is about "how if you ain't got money, but you still spend it anyway, life is gonna bite you in the arse".<ref>[http://www.songfacts.com/detail.php?id=16950 Dirtee Cash Songfacts]. www.songfacts.com.</ref>

==Music video== On 4 October 2009, Dizzee said in an interview on The Radio 1 Chart Show<ref name="Dizzee Rascal - BBC Radio 1 Chart Show">McAlpine, Fraser. [https://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/chartblog/2009/11/dizzee_rascal_dirtee_cash.shtml Dizzee Rascal - 'Dirtee Cash']. Saturday, 21 November 2009. Retrieved Sunday, 25 September 2011. BBC Radio 1.</ref> that a music video<ref name="Dirtee Cash-Vimeo">[http://vimeo.com/7200097 Dirtee Cash - Video on Vimeo]. Vimeo.</ref> had been filmed in London for the single. He said that the music video was based around ''The Wicker Man''. The video contains political extremes and caricatures of things and people of Britain's history. These include Margaret Thatcher, Princess Diana and events such as the suffragette movement. In the conclusion of the video, books are burnt and, in the final shot, the text of William Blake's "And did those feet in ancient time" is destroyed like rubbish. This may be a reflection on the value of things past and how in the event of other circumstances may be lost to humanity forever.<ref name="Dizzee Rascal - BBC Radio 1 Chart Show"/><ref name="Dirtee Cash-Vimeo"/>

The video premiered on 4Music on 20 October 2009.
