Initially declared "Direct Democracy" on 16 October 2025, the party was legally founded on 27 February 2026, under the name "Direct Democracy Cyprus".<ref>{{Cite web |date=2026-02-05 |title=Μετονομάστηκε σε «Άμεση Δημοκρατία Κύπρου» το κόμμα του Φειδία |url=https://www.politis.com.cy/politis-news/politiki/984677/metonomastike-se-amesi-dimokratia-kyproy-to-komma-toy-feidia |access-date=2026-05-28 |website=www.politis.com.cy |language=el}}</ref><ref>{{Cite web |title=Μητρώο Πολιτικών Κομμάτων - Υπουργείο Εσωτερικών - Ιστοσελίδα Εκλογών - Gov.cy |url=https://www.gov.cy/moi-elections/documents/mitroo-politikon-kommaton/ |access-date=2026-05-30 |website=www.gov.cy |language=el}}</ref>
== The “Agorà” application ==
The “Agorà” App (meaning “shop” or "marketplace" in modern Greek, also "place of public discussion" in ancient Greek) is the application used by the party supporters to vote on parliamentary issues.
This working app<ref>{{Cite web|url=https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.app.fidias&hl=el|title=Working app of the Direct Democracy Party|access-date=2025-10-18|website=play.google.com|date=2025-10-28}}</ref> can be seen by everyone around the world, and in it the Cypriot citizens (by showing their police ID) have the right to vote and indicate to their representative what they want him to vote for. In this way, every parliamentary representative is transformed into a Trojan horse of direct democracy, within a parliamentary environment.<ref>{{Cite AV media |url=https://www.youtube.com/shorts/Hxj3HvgvWkY |title=Εσείς θα ψηφίζετε τι θέλετε - Μιχαλάκης Μιχαήλ |language=en |access-date=2026-05-08 |via=YouTube}}</ref> The ultimate goal of such representatives is to become the majority in parliaments and thus transform the widespread political regime of parliamentarism into (direct) democracy.
This is the third attempt to establish direct democracy into a parliament via a similar "Trojan Horse" system, with the first one being IserveU.<ref>{{Cite web |title=IserveU |url=https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCbR3dbFMHmZPwkKcFd9m07Q |access-date=2026-05-08 |website=YouTube |language=en}}</ref> This idea was also tried,<ref>{{Cite web | title=Greek Pirate Party forum 1| url=https://forum-pirateparty-gr.translate.goog/viewtopic.php?f=147&t=1916&hilit=%CF%83%CF%87%CE%AD%CE%B4%CE%B9%CE%BF+%CE%B5%CE%AF%CE%BD%CE%B1%CE%B9+%CF%88%CE%B7%CF%86%CE%AF%CE%B6%CE%B5%CE%B9+%CF%80%CE%B5%CE%B9%CF%81%CE%B1%CF%84%CE%AE%CF%82+%CE%B2%CE%BF%CF%85%CE%BB%CE%B5%CF%85%CF%84%CE%AE%CF%82+%CE%B1%CE%BA%CF%81%CE%B9%CE%B2%CF%8E%CF%82+%CF%8C%CF%84%CE%B9+%CE%B4%CE%B9%CE%B1%CF%84%CE%AC%CE%BE%CE%B5%CE%B9+pirategov.&start=100&_x_tr_sl=el&_x_tr_tl=en&_x_tr_hl=el&_x_tr_pto=wapp#p26874| access-date=2025-12-28 | website=forum.pirateparty.gr |language=Greek}}</ref> under the name pirategov, in the Pirate Party of Greece from 19 June 2012 until 16 December 2012.<ref>{{Cite web | title=Greek Pirate Party forum 2| url=https://forum-pirateparty-gr.translate.goog/viewtopic.php?f=147&t=1916&p=40957&hilit=%CE%BA%CE%B1%CF%84%CE%B1%CF%81%CE%B3%CE%AE%CF%83%CE%BF%CF%85%CE%BD+%CE%BD%CF%8C%CE%BC%CE%BF%CF%85%CF%82+%CE%BA%CE%BF%CE%B9%CE%BD%CE%BF%CE%B2%CE%BF%CF%85%CE%BB%CE%B5%CF%85%CF%84%CE%B9%CF%83%CE%BC%CE%BF%CF%8D+%CE%B5%CF%86%CE%B1%CF%81%CE%BC%CF%8C%CF%83%CE%BF%CF%85%CE%BD+%CE%B2%CE%B9%CE%BA%CE%B9%CE%BD%CF%8C%CE%BC%CE%BF%CF%85%CF%82+%CE%BD%CE%B1%CE%B9+%CF%8C%CF%87%CE%B9+%CE%BF%CF%85%CF%81%CE%B1%CE%BD%CE%BF%CE%BA%CE%B1%CF%84%CE%AD%CE%B2%CE%B1%CF%84%CE%B1+%CE%BD%CE%BF%CE%BC%CE%BF%CF%83%CF%87%CE%AD%CE%B4%CE%B9%CE%B1+%CE%B5%CE%BA%CE%AC%CF%83%CF%84%CE%BF%CF%84%CE%B5+%CE%BA%CE%BF%CE%B9%CE%BD%CE%BF%CE%B2%CE%BF%CF%85%CE%BB%CE%B5%CF%85%CF%84%CE%B9%CE%BA%CE%AE%CF%82&_x_tr_sl=el&_x_tr_tl=en&_x_tr_hl=el&_x_tr_pto=wapp#p40957 | access-date=2025-12-28 | website=forum.pirateparty.gr|language=Greek}}</ref>
