==Biography== [[File:Del teatro inclusivo a una traca final de conciertos para el cierre de San Isidro 08.jpg|thumb|Diego el Cigala (2018).]] Born into a family of [[Romani people|Romani]] artists and intellectuals in Madrid, Jiménez started his career singing in flamenco clubs, until he caught the attention of flamenco dancers such as [[Mario Maya]] and [[Joaquín Cortés]], and with guitarist [[Antón Jiménez]],<ref>{{Cite web |date=2019-08-27 |title=ABC MADRID 04-08-1993 página 74 - Archivo ABC |url=https://www.abc.es/archivo/periodicos/abc-madrid-19930804-74.html |access-date=2023-05-10 |website=abc}}</ref> began touring as part of their companies.
