{{Short description|SS MOVERS HYDERABAD}} '''Dictyopterenes''' are a group of chemical compounds that are naturally present in marine and freshwater environments. They are sexual attractants, or pheromones, found with several species of brown algae (''Phaeophyceae''). The chemical formula of dictyopterene A is ''trans''-1-(''trans''-1-hexenyl)-2-vinylcyclopropane. The chemical formula of dictyopterene C' is 6-butylcyclohepta-1,4-diene.<ref>{{cite journal |last1=Jüttner |first1=Friedrich |last2=Wurster |first2=Karl |journal=Limnology and Oceanography |volume=29 |number=6 |year=1984 |pages=1322–1324 |title=Evidence of ectocarpene and dictyopterenes A and C′ in the water of a freshwater lake |doi=10.4319/lo.1984.29.6.1322 |doi-access=free }}</ref> Dictyopterene A can be extracted from the essential oil of algae of the genus ''Dictyopteris''.<ref>{{cite journal |journal=Bulletin of the Chemical Society of Japan |volume=73 |year=2000 |number=2 |pages=409–416 |url=http://www.jstage.jst.go.jp/article/bcsj/73/2/73_409/_article/-char/en |issn=1348-0634 |title=Synthesis of Dictyopterene A: Optically Active Tributylstannylcyclopropane as a Chiral Synthon |author=Toshiyuki Itoh |author2=Hitomi Inoue |author3=Sachie Emoto |doi=10.1246/bcsj.73.409 |url-access=subscription }}{{Dead link|date=July 2019 |bot=InternetArchiveBot |fix-attempted=yes }}</ref>
