==Political role==

Standing for Aiwo Constituency, Agir was elected to the Parliament of Nauru,<ref>{{cite book|url=https://books.google.com/books?id=-isxAQAAIAAJ&q=%22David+Agir%22+-wikipedia&dq=%22David+Agir%22+-wikipedia&hl=en&newbks=1&newbks_redir=0&source=|title=Pacific Islands Yearbook, 1981, Volume 14|year=1981|access-date=18 January 2026}}</ref> in a by-election following Kinza Clodumar's resignation in 1979.

Four years later, Agir lost his seat again to Clodumar.

==Later life==

In his later years Agir worked for the Department for Island Development and Industries.
