'''David Anthony Scholz''' (April 12, 1948 – December 5, 2015) was an American basketball player.

Scholz was born in 1948. He attended Stephen Decatur High School in Decatur, Illinois.<ref name=BR>{{cite web|title=Dave Scholz NBA stats|website=Basketball Reference|publisher=Sports Reference LLC|accessdate=August 27, 2024|url=https://www.basketball-reference.com/players/s/scholda01.html}}</ref> He was selected by the Associated Press (AP) to the All-Illinois high school basketball team in March 1965.<ref>{{cite news|title=Reds' Scholz Selected On AP All-State Squad|newspaper=The Decatur Daily Review|date=March 9, 1965|page=6|url=https://www.newspapers.com/clip/97667874/scholz/|via=Newspapers.com}}</ref> He also led Decatur to the Elite Eight of the state tournament his junior and senior seasons.

He then enrolled at the University of Illinois. Scholz was taken with the thirteenth pick in the fourth round of the 1969 NBA draft by the Philadelphia 76ers.
