The Corder brick building was built in 1900. Plachek. James W. Plachek designed a number of other buildings in Berkeley, including: Berkeley Public Library, New Hotel Carquinez, UC Theatre, Chamber of Commerce Building, schools, and civic buildings. Architect James W.
