Colombiers (kɔlɔ̃bje) is a commune in the Orne department in north-western France.

Geography

The commune is made up of the following collection of villages and hamlets, Briante, Les Coutardières, Les Landes, Haras du Buff and Colombiers.[2]

La Briante is the sole watercourse that flows through the commune.[3]

The commune is in the Normandie-Maine Regional Natural Park.[4]

Points of interest

  • Chemin-de-Maure is a Roman road that was believed to run from Alençon to Colombiers, about 50 metres of the road is visible.[5]

National heritage sites

  • Domaine de Lonrai, the estate was created in the seventeenth century, it was registered as a Monument historique in 1999.[6] The stud farm was built in 1863 by Armand Donon.[6] The grounds also cover the neighbouring commune of Lonrai[7]
