{{Short description|Historical division of Suffolk, England}} thumb|right|Colneis Hundred '''Colneis'''{{pronunciation?}} is a hundred of Suffolk, covering {{convert|16712|acre|km2}}.<ref name=gaz>{{cite book|title=History, gazetteer, and directory of Suffolk|author=William White|date=1844|page=119|url=https://books.google.com/books?id=ZgxIAAAAMAAJ&pg=PA119}}</ref>

Running from the south-east outskirts of Ipswich to the North Sea coast, the hundred is made up of the land between the estuaries of the rivers Orwell and Deben. It is one of the smallest in Suffolk, being only about {{convert|4|mi|km|spell=in}} wide and {{convert|10|mi|km|spell=in}} long between its border with Carlford Hundred and the cliffs at Felixstowe. It lies within the Colneis Deanery, in the Archdeaconry of Suffolk. It was one of seven Saxon hundreds grouped together as the Wicklaw Hundreds.<ref name="New Light on Rendlesham">{{cite journal |last1=Williamson |first1=Tom |title=New Light on Rendlesham |journal=The Historian |date=2018 |issue=139 |publisher=The Historical Association}}</ref>

Spelled ''Colenesse'' in Domesday Book, the origin of the name is not known for sure, though the suffix ''-ness'' means "headland", and t ''Col'' may represent the Old Danish personal name Koli <ref>{{cite book|title=A dictionary of Suffolk place-names|author=Keith Briggs and Kelly Kilpatrick|date=2016}}</ref>

The name survives as that of a Junior School in Felixstowe.
