==Life== He was the son of the Rev. William Cyril Luxmoore and his wife Constance Evelyn Shoesmith.<ref name="WW">{{Who's Who|title=Luxmoore, Rt Rev. Christopher Charles|id=U25140|access-date=1 March 2022}}</ref><ref>{{cite news |title=Harrogate Clergyman's Wedding |url=https://www.britishnewspaperarchive.co.uk/viewer/bl/0000687/19210408/115/0003 |work=Yorkshire Post and Leeds Intelligencer |date=8 April 1921|page=3}}</ref> He was educated at Sedbergh School and Trinity College, Cambridge, and was ordained in 1953. His first post was as a curate at St John the Baptist, Newcastle upon Tyne after which he was Priest in Charge of St Bede's, Newsham, County Durham. He was then Rector of Sangre Grande, Trinidad and after that Vicar of Headingley, Leeds. He was Precentor and Canon Residentiary of Chichester Cathedral from 1981<ref>“Crockford's clerical directory, 1995” (Lambeth,Church House {{ISBN|0-7151-8088-6}})</ref> until his election to the See of Bermuda in 1984, and was the first ever Bishop to be consecrated there.<ref>The Times, Monday, Nov 26, 1984; pg. 16; Issue 61996; col B ''Court Circular''</ref>

On his return to England in 1989, Luxmoore became Archdeacon of Lewes & Hastings,<ref name="WW"/> a post he held until retirement in 1991.

==Family== Luxmoore married in 1955 Judith Johnstone, daughter of canon Verney Johnstone; they had four sons and a daughter.<ref name="WW"/>
