The Chongming line will start at {{stl|SHM|Jinji Road}} in Pudong and end at {{stl|SHM|Yu'an}} in Chongming District,<ref name=jtw201904 /> and will interchange with Lines 9 and 12.<ref name=jtw201904 /> It will be {{convert|42.8|km}} long, including a {{convert|40.7|km|adj=on}} underground section.
