Cecil Hook

Hook was born on 1 December 1844 into a clerical family.<ref>His father was the Very Reverend Walter Farquhar Hook, sometime Dean of Chichester - ''Who was Who 1897-1990'', London, A & C Black, 1991, {{ISBN|0-7136-3457-X}}</ref> He was educated at Radley School and Christ Church, Oxford.<ref>"University Intelligence.
