}} '''''Callavia''''' is an extinct genus of trilobite arthropods. '''''Callavia''''' lived during the late Atdabanian stage, which lasted from 530 to 524 million years ago during the early part of the Cambrian Period<ref name="Sepkoski">{{cite journal|last=Sepkoski |first=Jack |author-link=Jack Sepkoski |title=A compendium of fossil marine animal genera (Trilobita entry) |journal=Bulletins of American Paleontology |volume=363 |pages=1–560 |year=2002 |url=http://strata.ummp.lsa.umich.edu/jack/showgenera.php?taxon=307&rank=class |access-date=2008-01-12 |url-status=dead |archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20060905162524/http://strata.ummp.lsa.umich.edu/jack/showgenera.php?taxon=307&rank=class |archive-date=2006-09-05 }}</ref> in what are today Canada and the United States.

== Taxonomy == The position of ''Callavia'' in relation to other Olenellina has shifted repeatedly over time. Initially it was assigned to the Holmiinae by Pierre Hupé, and was later moved back and forth to the Callaviinae.<ref name= 'Palmer&Repina'>{{citation|last1=Palmer|first1=A.R.|last2=Repina|first2=L.N.|year=1993|title=Through a Glass Darkly: Taxonomy, Phylogeny and Biostratigraphy of the Olenellina|journal=The University of Kansas Paleontological Contributions|volume=3|pages=1–35|url=http://kuscholarworks.ku.edu/dspace/handle/1808/3760}}</ref> Lieberman, however, argues ''Callavia'' is a basal member of the Judomioidea.<ref name=Lieberman2001/>

== Distribution == ''C. broeggeri'' is known from the Lower Cambrian of Newfoundland (Brigus Formation, Branchian Series, Conception Bay), Nova Scotia (between Docters Brook and Malignant Brook, northernmost Antigonish Highlands), Canada, and Massachusetts, USA (Weymouth Formation, Pearl street, North Weymouth, and probably Hoppin Hill Reservoir, North Attleboro). ''C. choffati'' is known from the Iberian Peninsula in the Elvas Municipality in Portugal and in several localities in the Huelva Province, Spain.<ref name='Collantes et. al.'/> ''C. callavei'' is found in the Comley Limestone in Shropshire, England.

== Ecology == ''C. broeggeri'' occurs together with the bracihiopods ''Sunnaginia imbricata'' and ''Eccentrotheca kanesia'', and the agnostid ''Serrodiscus bellimarginatus''.<ref>{{Cite journal|last= Landing|first= E.|year= 1995|title= Upper Placentian-Branchian series of mainland Nova Scotia (middle-upper Lower Cambrian) faunas, paleoenvironments, and stratigraphic revision|journal= Journal of Paleontology|volume= 69|number= 3|pages= 475–495|jstor= 1306322|doi= 10.1017/S0022336000034879|bibcode= 1995JPal...69..475L|s2cid= 133094242}}</ref><ref>[https://paleobiodb.org/classic/displayCollResults?collection_no=9350 Paleobiology Database]</ref>
