==Early life and family== Surratt hails from Indian Trail, North Carolina, a suburb of Charlotte. ==Amateur career== In 2021, Surratt won the Terra Cotta Invitational, Junior PGA Championship, Bobby Chapman Invitational and Western Junior. He was ranked as the No. 2 player in the country by Junior Golf Scoreboard, and named Rolex Junior First Team All-American. He was a member of the U.S. team for the 2021 Junior Ryder Cup, which was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.<ref name=utsports/>

Surratt joined the Tennessee Volunteers men's golf team at the University of Tennessee in the fall of 2022.
