==History== ''The Buffalo Enquirer'' was co-founded by George Rehbaum and William B. Held.<ref>{{cite journal|title=Buffalo Pioneers Die Together: George Rehbaum and William B. Held Founders of Enquirer|work=Editor & Publisher|page=35|date=April 8, 1922}}</ref> Established in 1891, the paper was originally published from 509 Main St. in Buffalo, New York.<ref name="Hill">{{cite book|title=Municipality of Buffalo, New York: A History, 1720-1923, Volume 1|pages= 471–472|publisher=Lewis Historical Publishing Company|last=Hill|first=Henry Wayland}}</ref> In the autumn of 1892 the Buffalo newspaperman W. J. Connors Sr. and businessman E. G. S. Miller co-purchased the paper with Rehbaum and Held still owning some shares in the paper.<ref name="Bennett">{{cite book|title=Buffalo Newspapers - Since 1870|first= A. Kingsley became the managing editor of the paper at this point.<ref name="Hill"/> In 1895 W. J. In 1919 W. J. Connors Jr., the son of W. J. Connors Sr., became publisher of the paper.<ref>{{cite news|work=Syracuse Herald Journal|date=February 3, 1951|page= 6|title=W. J. Connors Dies, Buffalo Publisher}}</ref> Connors Jr. purchased ''The Buffalo Enquirer''' in 1925 and at that time it was re-named ''The Daily Star''.<ref name="obit1"/> The paper ceased publication in 1926.<ref name="obit1"/>
