There are two medieval monasteries in the immediate vicinity of Brvenik: Stara Pavlica and Nova Pavlica. ==Fortress== The fortress of Brvenik is located on the hill (599m) overlooking the Brvenik village. The Brvenik ''župa'' (county) was mentioned in 1280.
