== Biography == Lenman was born in Aberdeen in April 1938 to Jacob and May Lenman (nee Wishart). He studied at Aberdeen Grammar School before attending the University of Aberdeen and later St John’s College Cambridge as a post graduate.<ref name="auto">{{Cite book |url=https://archive.org/details/whoswhoinscotlan0000unse_s1c5/mode/2up |title=Who's who in Scotland, 1997 |date=1997 |publisher=Irvine [Scotland] : Carrick Media |others=Internet Archive |isbn=978-0-946724-36-9}}</ref>
