He finished fourth-fastest in the [[2010 IAAF World Indoor Championships – Men's 60 metres|men's 60 metres]] heats at the [[2010 IAAF World Indoor Championships]] in [[Doha]], but was disqualified in the semifinals. He won a bronze medal in the 4 × 100 metres relay at the [[2010 Central American and Caribbean Games]] in [[Mayaguez]] alongside [[Prince Kwidama]], [[Curtis Cock]] and [[Churandy Martina]].

Mariano finished sixth in the [[2011 European Athletics Indoor Championships – Men's 60 metres|60 metres]] at the [[2011 European Athletics Indoor Championships]] in [[Paris]], representing the Netherlands for the first time.

After a race on 6 February 2016 he tested positive in a doping test.
