He was the son of Isaak Meerovich Goldman. His younger brother Mikhail Goldman (aka Mark Liber)<ref name="JVL">{{cite web |title=Liber, Marc |url=https://www.jewishvirtuallibrary.org/liber-marc |website=www.jewishvirtuallibrary.org |publisher=Jewish Virtual Library |accessdate=16 July 2020}}</ref> was a founding member of the General Jewish Labour Bund ("the Bund"). He was arrested in 1937 during the great purge, and was then shot.
