{{Short description|River of Locris}} The '''Boagrius''' or '''Boagrios''' ({{langx|grc|Βοάγριος}}), also called '''Manes''' (Μάνης), was the largest river of Locris. It was only a mountain torrent, rising in Mount Cnemis, and flowing into the sea between Scarpheia and Thronium. The river was often dry.<ref name=Strabo>{{Cite Strabo|ix., p. 426}}</ref> The town of Tarphe was also upon its banks. The river is mentioned by Homer in the ''Iliad''.<ref>{{Cite Iliad|2.533}}</ref> The river significantly changed course following the Locrian earthquake of 426&nbsp;BCE.<ref>{{Cite Thucydides|3.89}}</ref> It is noted by Strabo,<ref name=Strabo/> Ptolemy,<ref>{{Cite Ptolemy|3.15.11}}</ref> and Pliny the Elder.<ref>{{Cite Pliny|4.7.12}}</ref>
