He began his film career as a [[camera operator]] and as a [[cinematographer]].<ref name=fvf>{{cite book|last=Roberto Poppi|title=I registi: dal 1930 ai giorni nostri|year=2002|publisher=Gremese Editore, 2002|page=16|isbn=8884401712}}</ref> In 1974 Albertini directed ''[[Black Emanuelle]]'' starring the then almost unknown [[Laura Gemser]]. Her subsequent successful career meant that she was absent from ''[[Black Emanuelle 2]]'', and Albertini instead cast actress Shulamith Lasri in the title role.<ref name=stracult>{{cite book|last=Marco Giusti|title=Dizionario dei film italiani stracult|year=1999|publisher=Sperling & Kupfer|isbn=8820029197}}</ref>
In 1977 he released ''[[Yellow Emanuelle]]''<ref name="NYT"/> as a comeback. The film, starring [[Chai Lee]], was very successful.{{citation needed|date=November 2015}} However the film never reached the popularity of [[Joe D'Amato]]'s series.<ref name="fvf"/><ref name="stracult"/> His last two films were "[[Mondo film|Mondo]]s" set in Asia, depicting shocking rituals and savage violence.<ref name="fvf"/>
He died in Italy in 1999 at age 74.
