Listed at {{convert|6|ft|1|in}}, {{convert|185|lb}}, he batted and threw right-handed.
The native of Gastonia, North Carolina, was 25 years old when he entered the Majors in {{baseball year|1954}} with the Milwaukee Braves. A right fielder, he was hitless in his only two at bats in three games. He struck out against Harvey Haddix of the St. Louis Cardinals on April 24,<ref>[http://www.retrosheet.org/boxesetc/1954/B04240SLN1954.htm 1954-4-24-box score from Retrosheet]</ref> and whiffed the following day against Al Brazle.<ref>[http://www.retrosheet.org/boxesetc/1954/B04250SLN1954.htm 1954-4-25 box score from Retrosheet]</ref> He then was sent to the Triple-A Toledo Sox to continue what would be a 14-season (1947–1960) minor league career.
Queen died in Gastonia at the age of 77.
