==Description== ''Barringtonia neocaledonica'' is a small tree growing up to {{cvt|15|m}} tall. The leaves are arranged in whorls and clustered towards the end of the branches.{{R|PRANCE}} They are glossy dark green, glabrous (i.e. without hairs), wider at the distal end (obovate) and gradually tapering at the base.{{R|ENC|PRANCE}} The leaf blade extends all the way down to the end of the petiole (leaf stalk), so that the petiole is "winged" (attenuate).{{R|ENC|PRANCE}} The leaves measure up to {{cvt|30|cm}} long by {{cvt|12|cm}} wide.{{R|ENC|PRANCE}}

The inflorescences are terminal or ramiflorous, pendulous spikes, reaching {{cvt|50|cm}} or more in length.{{R|ENC|PRANCE}} They carry about 50 white or pale pink sessile flowers.{{R|ENC|PRANCE}}

The fleshy fruit contains a single seed and measures about {{cvt|6|cm}} long and {{cvt|2|cm}} wide.{{R|PRANCE}}
