The barangay borders the former U.S. Clark Air Base.<ref name="Jennings 2015"/> Balibago has been described as "the entertainment district of Angeles City"<ref name="Tejero 2016"/> and is also known as a red-light district.<ref name="Philippines Lifestyle News 2017"/>

Balibago is a commercial and entertainment area containing restaurants, shopping malls, and a casino along MacArthur Highway.
