It is the second waterway to press eastward from [[Admiralty Inlet (Nunavut)|Admiralty Inlet]] into [[Baffin Island]]. The southern point of its mouth is named Ship Point.

==Geography== Characterized by open sea, coastal cliffs, and rocky marine shore habitat, the elevation rises up to {{cvt|610|m}} [[height above mean sea level|above sea level]].

A sizeable population of [[northern fulmar]]s are found here. [[Reindeer|Caribou]], [[polar bear]]s, and [[walrus]]es, as well as [[harp seal]]s, [[ringed seal]]s, and [[beluga whale]]s frequent the area.
