'''Arrivo Corporation''' was a startup company in Los Angeles, California, that developed maglev rail. Arrivo initially attempted to commercialize a hyperloop, but abandoned the effort in November 2017 in favor of established transit technologies.
In November 2017, Arrivo proposed a plan for a 200 mph (322 km/h) maglev system in Colorado that would transport automobiles to and from Denver International Airport.<ref name="dp171114">{{cite news|last1=CHUANG|first1=TAMARA|title=Colorado track will test super-speedy transit that could be offered at toll-road price|url=http://www.denverpost.com/2017/11/14/arrivo-colorado-high-speed-commuting-test/|accessdate=16 November 2017|publisher=Denver Post|date=14 November 2017}}</ref>
On December 14, 2018, Arrivo reportedly shut down due to being unable to secure Series A funding.<ref name=defunct/>
==History== Arrivo was founded in 2016, after an acrimonious departure of most of Arrivo's management team from Hyperloop One. A resulting lawsuit was settled. The company's trademark application described its mission as: "Financial advisory and consultancy services namely, provide expert project analysis in the field of transportation."<ref>{{cite web |url= https://trademarks.justia.com/872/67/arrivo-87267511.html |title= Arrivo trademark application |work=Justia trademarks |date= Dec 19, 2016 |access-date= July 16, 2017}}</ref>
In a June 2017 interview, founder BamBrogan reported the company had twenty employees.<ref>{{cite news |url= https://www.inverse.com/article/32848-arrivo-hyperloop-plenty-of-money |title= Hyperloop Startup Arrivo Has "Plenty of Money" and Big Plans |first1=Jack |last1=Crosby |work= Inverse |date= Jun 12, 2017 |access-date= July 17, 2017}}</ref> Three months before it ended hyperloop development, ''USA Today'' reported Arrivo as one of three top contenders in the hyperloop field.<ref name = usat170721>{{cite news |url= https://www.usatoday.com/story/tech/2017/07/21/hyperloop-race-gets-crowded-new-entrant-arrivo-and-maybe-musk/497630001/|title= Hyperloop race gets crowded with new entrant Arrivo and maybe Musk |first1=Jack |last1=della Cava |work= USA Today |date= Jul 21, 2017 |access-date= July 24, 2017}}</ref>
==Colorado maglev project== Arrivo agreed to lease offices in an unused toll plaza on E-470 in Commerce City, Colorado, intending to employ forty engineers. The second phase would have been the erection of a half-mile maglev test track, but not the evacuated tube that was a big part of Elon Musk's original hyperloop proposal.<ref name="dp171114"/> The state has offered $760,000 in tax incentives to lure Arrivo. At a press conference, Brogan BamBrogan described a system that would move automobiles from downtown Denver to the airport at the same price as the tolls on Pena Boulevard, the airport highway. It would, he said, have a payback period of ten years. The company planned to break ground on the first commercial leg, from Aurora to the airport, in 2019, with an opening in 2021.<ref name="fm171114">{{cite news|last1=Jenkins|first1=Aric|title=A Guy Named Brogan BamBrogan Wants to Bring a 200 mph Hyperloop to Denver. ==Technology== The company has described a sled for automobiles; other elements of the technology with the exception of the tube and vacuum are likely to be similar to maglev.{{citation needed|date=July 2020}}
In March 2017 the company claimed it could have an operational hyperloop within three years.<ref>{{cite news |url= http://www.businessinsider.com/brogan-bambrogan-starts-planning-for-arrivo-hyperloop-2017-3 |title= The ousted co-founder of Hyperloop One launched a rival startup — and it plans to build a Hyperloop in just 3 years |first1=Danielle |last1=Muoio |work=Business Insider |date= March 18, 2017 |access-date= July 16, 2017}}</ref><ref>{{cite news |url= https://www.usatoday.com/story/tech/talkingtech/2017/01/28/ex-hyperloop-cofounderbambrogan-starts-arrivo/97190314/ |title= Ex-Hyperloop cofounder BamBrogan starts 'Arrivo' |first1=Marco |last1=della Cava |work= USA Today |date= Jan 28, 2017 |access-date= July 17, 2017}}</ref>
In November 2017, the company announced that it was no longer developing vacuum tubes and was focused on maglev rail technology.{{citation needed|date=July 2020}}
==Funding== In 2017, Arrivo said it had "'initial funding in place,' but did not reveal how much capital it had secured or the source of financial support."<ref>{{cite news |url= http://fortune.com/2017/02/09/new-hyperloop-company-arrivo/ |title= BLAZING: Another New Hyperloop Company Just Launched |first1=Kirsten |last1=Korosec |work=Fortune |date= Feb 9, 2017 |access-date= July 16, 2017}}</ref> BamBrogan expected revenue-generating projects within three years,<ref>{{cite news |url= http://fortune.com/2017/02/10/term-sheet-friday-february-10/ |title= Term Sheet — Friday, February 10 |first1=Erin |last1=Griffith |work=Fortune |date= Feb 10, 2017 |access-date= July 24, 2017}}</ref> with a "classic infrastructure model".<ref name = usat170721 /> In July 2018, it announced that it had received $1 billion credit from Genertec America.<ref>{{Cite web|url=https://coloradosun.com/2018/12/17/arrivo-hyperloop-shut-down-colorado/|title=Much-hyped high-speed transit company Arrivo has hit the brakes in Colorado|last=Chuang|first=Tamara|date=2018-12-17|website=Colorado Sun}}</ref>
