{{Short description|Ancient Greek mythological figure}} '''Aregonis''' ({{langx|grc|Ἀρηγονίς}}) is a character in Greek mythology. According to the ''Orphic Argonautica'', she was the wife of the seer Ampyx, himself a descendant (in some sources) of Ares, and mother of Mopsus, another seer. According to the ''Fabulae'', she was called "Chloris".<ref>''Orphic Argonautica'' 127; Hyginus, ''Fabulae'' 14</ref>

In certain telegraph codes, "Aregonis" signified "powerful".<ref>{{cite book | last =Hawke | first =William H. | title =The Premier Cypher Telegraphic Code | publisher =Effingham Wilson | date =1897 | pages =145 | url =https://books.google.com/books?id=B-kpAAAAYAAJ | accessdate=2017-12-01}}</ref>
