Annette Rochelle Lee[1][a] (born 10 July 1992) is a Singaporean singer-songwriter, scriptwriter, YouTube personality and filmmaker. She had previously started out on popular Singaporean social media platform SGAG's comedic videos under the persona "Sue-Ann".[3] She is known for works such as Graduation (2015), Dream Stall (2026) and The Caifan Song.

Early life

Lee is a Singaporean.[4] She was born on 10 July 1992.[5][‡ 1] She studied at Cedar Girls' Secondary School[‡ 2] and Saint Andrew's Junior College.[‡ 1][‡ 3] She graduated from the Nanyang Technological University's School of Art Design and Media.[1]

Career

Lee was first brought to the attention of SGAG from her blog,[1][6][7] in which she drew comics and shared stories.[8] She joined SGAG in 2015.[7]

Since 2020, she had left SGAG and creates her own shows for her own platforms.[9][‡ 4] She plays the persona of "Chantelle Tiffany Koh",[b] who is described as "pretentious".[11] In 2023, she interviewed Yoo Jae Suk, Lee Kwang Soo, and SNSD's Kwon Yu-ri as "Chantelle", which was described as "hilarious".[11] She also conducted an interview with Joanne Peh under the persona of "Auntie Susan".[12] Lee has hosted events, such as Jackson Wang’s book launch,[13] and co-hosts shows such as Adventure of the Day with Zermatt Neo.[7] In 2020, she performed a comedy and music show at Esplanade titled Annette Lee: All-In-One.[14]

Lee launched the web series Asian Billionaires, a satirical show that humorously explores the lives of fictional wealthy personalities.[15] Lee has been listed on Forbes’ 30 Under 30[16] and Prestige’s 40 Under 40 lists.[17] She had featured on cover page of Her World and Prestige magazines.[18]

As filmmaker

Lee's short films Keep Mum (2014) and Graduation (2015) were featured in the Singapore Short Film Awards and National Youth Film Awards.[14][19]

In 2025, Lee announced she would be producing an English-Mandarin[4] drama-comedy film, Dream Stall,[c] which she will direct, write and star in.[20] Film production company mm2 Entertainment would produce and distribute the movie.[20] It aired on 27 May 2026.[2] She promised to refund watchers that felt that they "wasted their time", and encouraged them to provide constructive criticism in person at *SCAPE on 5 June 2026.[4] It features two songs written and performed by her, Strangers' Land and Better Than Yours (The Bak Kut Teh Song).[4]

Music

Lee plays the guitar and the piano from her youth, which was self-taught.[21][22][23] She writes songs in the electro-folk,[24] electropop,[23] and power ballad genre.[25]

In September 2017, Lee released her first musical work, an EP titled All Our Achilles Heels. Her album was awarded the National Arts Council presentation grant.[26] In 2020, she released her second EP titled Song for the Underdog.[14] Lee is also known for The Ann & Ben Show, a music video series created with fellow Singaporean artist Benjamin Kheng.[25] The show, which highlights humorous takes on everyday Singaporean life, includes the song named The Caifan Song.[d][28] It amassed 300,000 views on YouTube in three days.[25] As of June 2023, it received over 1.3 million views.[22]

Personal life

In June[4] 2017, Lee married Raphael Foo,[29] a hedge fund manager.[4][5] She gave birth to their son, Wes Lucas Foo, on 16 November 2022.[30][31][‡ 6]
