As an 18-year-old Sach was an atheist and viewed Christians as "naive, superstitious and ignorant".<ref name=":2">{{Cite book|title=Has Science Disproved God?.|date=2011|publisher=UCCF: The Christian Union|isbn=978-0-7554-9369-2|location=[Place of publication not identified]|oclc=987044408}}</ref> Whilst reading Natural Sciences as an undergraduate at St John's College, University of Cambridge, Sach was contacted by the Christian Union who challenged him to think about whether or not the resurrection of Jesus Christ was a historical fact or not.<ref name=":3">{{Citation|title=Andrew Sach interview - introduction the Christian Heritage London podcast.| date=May 2020 |url=https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gseSz0HpmlY |archive-url=https://ghostarchive.org/varchive/youtube/20211219/gseSz0HpmlY |archive-date=2021-12-19 |url-status=live|language=en|access-date=2021-07-10}}{{cbignore}}</ref> He eventually concluded that it was, and became a Christian.<ref name=":3" /> After his degree, Sach worked as an apprentice for a year at the church of St Andrew the Great, Cambridge.
Sach then did a doctorate in neuroscience at the University of York.<ref name=":0" /> He published three scientific papers on auditory spatial attention.<ref>{{Cite journal|last1=Sach|first1=Andrew J.|last2=Hill|first2=Nicholas I.|last3=Bailey|first3=Peter J.|date=2000|title=Auditory spatial attention using interaural time differences.|url=http://doi.apa.org/getdoi.cfm?doi=10.1037/0096-1523.26.2.717|journal=Journal of Experimental Psychology: Human Perception and Performance|language=en|volume=26|issue=2|pages=717–729|doi=10.1037/0096-1523.26.2.717|pmid=10811171 |issn=1939-1277|url-access=subscription}}</ref><ref>{{Cite journal|last1=Sach|first1=Andrew J.|last2=Bailey|first2=Peter J.|date=November 2004|title=Some characteristics of auditory spatial attention revealed using rhythmic masking release|journal=Perception & Psychophysics|language=en|volume=66|issue=8|pages=1379–1387|doi=10.3758/BF03195005|pmid=15813201|s2cid=15159167|issn=0031-5117|doi-access=free}}</ref><ref>{{Cite journal|last1=Sach|first1=Andrew J.|last2=Hill|first2=Nicholas I.|last3=Bailey|first3=Peter J.|date=February 1999|title=Auditory spatial attention influences discrimination of interaural time differences: Evidence from a probe-signal paradigm|url=http://asa.scitation.org/doi/10.1121/1.424905|journal=The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America|language=en|volume=105|issue=2|pages=1025|doi=10.1121/1.424905|bibcode=1999ASAJ..105.1025S |issn=0001-4966|url-access=subscription}}</ref>
He then worked for St Helen's Bishopsgate in London for three years. Whilst there he studied part-time at the Cornhill Training Course. From there went to Oak Hill Theological College (with a six-month exchange to Moore Theological College, Sydney) to train for ordination in the Church of England. He then worked as a curate at St Helens for several years, leading the 6pm and then the 10:30am congregations.<ref>{{Cite web|title=St Helen's Bishopsgate|url=https://www.st-helens.org.uk/resources/all/speaker-432/andrew-sach/|access-date=2021-07-10|website=www.st-helens.org.uk|language=en}}</ref>
In 2025, Sach is a minister at Grace Church Greenwich<ref>[https://greenwich.church/whoweare/ Grace Church Greenwich]</ref> and a tutor on the Cornhill Training Course.<ref name=":1" />
Sach has co-authored a number of books on biblical exegesis in the "Dig Deeper" series. He authored a booklet titled "Has Science Disproved God?" published by UCCF, which aimed to "explain why I think it is reasonable to believe in God in the face of science".<ref name=":2" />
Sach opposes Neo-Darwinian evolution viewing it at variance with the first books of the Bible. Sach, however, challenges the notion that the Hebrew word "Yom" (Hebrew: יום) in the creation account, according to Genesis, refers to a literal day (24 hours), therefore denying that creation occurred in a period of six days (6 x 24 hours). Rather, Sach proposes that the Genesis creation account is a poetic way of speaking about the careful ordered way in which God made the universe.<ref>Dig Deeper: Tools for Understanding God's Word [p.105]</ref>
