{{Short description|Spanish railway service}} thumb|right|300px|A Barcelona - Madrid Altaria train '''Altaria''' was a brand name of a group of fast long-distance passenger railway services operated by Spanish national railway company Renfe Operadora and connecting Madrid to Algeciras, Alicante, Barcelona, Cádiz, Cartagena, Granada, Irún, Logroño, Murcia, Pamplona, and San Sebastián.<ref>Madrid - Barcelona Altarias have been replaced by AVE trains upon completion of the Madrid–Barcelona high-speed rail line in early 2008.</ref>

Altaria trains were composed of locomotive-hauled Talgo coaching stock equipped with gauge-changing technology which enabled the carriages to run on both conventional ({{RailGauge|1668mm|allk=on}}) track and the narrower international {{RailGauge|1435mm|allk=on}} track which is used for the newer high-speed network in Spain. Altaria trains were able to achieve speeds of up to 200 km/h on the high-speed lines.

Since 22 June 2022, the brand was replaced by the InterCity services along with other Renfe brands.<ref>{{cite web|url=https://www.trenvista.net/noticias/renfe-fusiona-los-servicios-talgo-altaria-av-city-e-intercity/|title=Renfe fusiona los servicios Talgo, Altaria, AV City e Intercity|website=www.trenvista.net|date=18 June 2020|access-date=17 February 2025|language=es}}</ref>
