Addae then transferred to the West Virginia University in 2019 to play for the Mountaineers, but sat out for the season due to transfer eligibility requirements.<ref name=Mountaineers/> He played in the next two seasons for the team where he started in 23 games and recorded 139 total tackles, two interceptions, one sack, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery.<ref name=Mountaineers/>
