==Early life== Danziger was born and raised in The Bronx, New York City.<ref name=Cerulli/><ref>{{Cite news|date=December 23, 1984|url=https://www.newspapers.com/article/austin-american-statesman/193400021/|work=Austin American-Statesman|title=A worthy Claus|last=Hutchinson|first=Julie|page=E20|via=Newspapers.com}}</ref> He graduated from the Bronx High School of Science before enrolling at City College of New York.<ref name=Cerulli/> After graduating with a degree in psychology in 1964, he enrolled at the University of Texas at Austin, where he began studying for a master's degree in social psychology.<ref name=Cerulli/>

==Career== While residing in Austin, Danziger was introduced to Tobe Hooper through his downstairs neighbor, film editor Sallye Richardson.<ref name=Cerulli/> Hooper cast Danziger in his debut feature film, ''Eggshells'' (1969).<ref name=Cerulli/> After completing the film, Danziger began a career as a social worker.<ref name=Cerulli/> Several years later, Hooper again offered him the role of Jerry in ''The Texas Chain Saw Massacre'' (1974), marking his second film role.<ref name=Cerulli/>
