==Career== ===Inter Milan=== Cordaz started his career at Inter Milan. In the 2001–02 season, he was the regular selection ahead of Mathieu Moreau for first choice at Primavera Team (U20 team), where he won the championship.
When he turned 19, he was loaned out to Spezia of Serie C1. He played as the backup of Hugo Daniel Rubini.
In summer 2003, he returned to Inter as first team 3rd goalkeeper, while his ex-competitor Moreau was farmed out to Spezia. Cordaz made his first team debut against Juventus on 4 February 2004 in a Coppa Italia match which ended in a 2–2 draw.<ref>{{cite news|url=http://www.cnn.com/2004/SPORT/football/02/04/italy.cup/|title=Di Vaio double earns Juventus draw|date=4 February 2004|accessdate=5 June 2023|publisher=CNN}}</ref>
He left for Spezia of Serie C1 again in January 2005.<ref>{{cite news|url=http://www.inter.it/aas/news/reader?L=en&N=17365|title=ALEX CORDAZ ON LOAN TO SPEZIA|date=25 January 2005|accessdate=25 January 2010|publisher=Inter Milan|website=inter.it|archive-date=18 October 2012|archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20121018115552/http://www.inter.it/aas/news/reader?N=17365&L=en|url-status=dead}}</ref> He won Coppa Italia Serie C along with Inter youth products Riccardo Meggiorini and Hernán Paolo Dellafiore, all of whom left on loan in January 2005.
He spent the 2005–06 season at Acireale of Serie C1 along with Devis Nossa and Fabrizio Biava.<ref>{{cite news|url=http://www.inter.it/aas/news/reader?L=en&N=19863|title=NEW CLUBS FOR FIVE YOUNGSTERS|date=31 August 2005|accessdate=25 January 2010|publisher=inter.it|archive-date=10 October 2012|archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20121010225907/http://www.inter.it/aas/news/reader?N=19863&L=en|url-status=dead}}</ref> He was the first choice of the team, but missed the relegation playoff and Simone Deliperi played instead. Acireale were relegated after losing in the playoffs.
===Treviso=== On 31 August 2006, the last day of the transfer window, Cordaz was sold to newly relegated Treviso in a joint-ownership bid, for a peppercorn fee of €500.<ref>''Crediti – Compartiecipazioni ex art.102bis NOIF'', FC Internazionale Milano 2006–07 ''bilancio'' (Report and Accounts), Require Purchase in [http://www.registroimprese.it/ CCIAA] {{in lang|it}}</ref> But he spent the first half of the season on loan at Pizzighettone of Serie C1.<ref>{{cite news|url=http://www.inter.it/aas/news/reader?L=en&N=23817|title=DEALS DONE FOR EIGHT YOUTH PLAYERS|date=31 August 2006|accessdate=25 January 2010|publisher=inter.it|archive-date=4 March 2013|archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20130304033337/http://www.inter.it/aas/news/reader?L=en|url-status=dead}}</ref> During the 2008–09 season Cordaz (€800,000 ca. January 2009) joined Treviso outright. January 2009 also saw the return of Gianluca Litteri (€50,000) and the signing of Samuele Longo and Mame Baba Thiam outright, which meant the deal involved little cash. Cordaz himself meant Inter had a financial income of €799,500 as the value of their retained half was increased from €500 to €800,000 in accounting.<ref>FC Internazionale Milano 2008–09, 2009–10 Report and Accounts {{in lang|it}}</ref>
===Lugano=== After Treviso disbanded due to financial issues, Cordaz found himself without a team, and later agreed for a move to Switzerland by joining Swiss Challenge League outfit FC Lugano on a free transfer.<ref>{{cite news|language=Italian |accessdate=31 August 2009 |date=28 July 2009 |url=http://www.fclugano.com/articles/view/403 |publisher=FC Lugano |title=UN NUOVO PORTIERE BIANCONERO! |url-status=dead |archiveurl=https://web.archive.org/web/20090731231648/http://www.fclugano.com/articles/view/403 |archivedate=31 July 2009 }}</ref>
===Cittadella=== On 5 July 2011, he returned to Serie B for Cittadella,<ref>{{Cite news|url=http://www.ascittadella.it/primoPianoMain.asp?id_new=870 |title=Alex Cordaz al Cittadella |date=6 July 2011 |accessdate=24 September 2011 |work=AS Cittadella |language=Italian |url-status=dead |archiveurl=https://web.archive.org/web/20110715193145/http://www.ascittadella.it/primoPianoMain.asp?id_new=870 |archivedate=15 July 2011 }}</ref> replacing former Inter team-mate Simone Villanova.
===Parma=== In June 2013, Cordaz was signed by Parma on a free transfer. On 1 July 2013,<ref>{{cite news|url=http://www.nzs.si/resources/files/doc/dokumenti/ostali_dokumenti/Pregled%20pogodb%20med%20igralci%20in%20klubi%201.SNL%20na%20dan%2012.07.2013.pdf|title=PREGLED POGODB MED IGRALCI IN KLUBI 1. In the first half of the 2014–15 season he failed to seek a new club, thus he became a backup keeper for Parma, despite wearing the no.1 shirt. On 9 January 2015, Cordaz left for Crotone, with Pavol Bajza returning to Parma.<ref>{{cite news|url=http://www.fccrotone.it/component/news/4521/calciomercato-cordaz-al-crotone-bajza-al-parma.html|title=Calciomercato: Cordaz al Crotone, Bajza al Parma|date=9 January 2015|accessdate=16 January 2015|publisher=FC Crotone|language=Italian}}</ref> Cordaz also wore the number 84 shirt vacated by Bajza.<ref>{{cite news|url=http://www.fccrotone.it/component/news/4549/ternana-crotone-sono-21-gli-squali-convocati-da-mister-drago.html|title=#Ternana-Crotone, sono 21 gli squali convocati da mister Drago|date=16 January 2015|accessdate=16 January 2015|publisher=FC Crotone|language=Italian}}</ref>
