==Education and family life== Ferris received his A.B from the University of the City of New York, now New York University, in 1878, his A.M. in 1885 from the same institution and his M.D. from the College of Physicians and Surgeons (Columbia University) in 1882.

==Career== Ferris' occupations were in the State of New York. In 1892, he set up practice in New York City. He was a consulting physician to the Italian Hospital, New York, and to the Binghamton State Hospital.
