==Racing career== Tasnady made four appearances in the NASCAR Grand National Series.<ref name="RR1"/> In 1957, he also made 16 starts in the NASCAR Convertible Division in a factory backed Plymouth.<ref name="EMP1">{{cite web |url=https://empamedia.com/halloffameAl%20Tasnady.html|title=EMPA Hall of Fame – Al Tasnady|publisher= Eastern Motorsports Press Association| access-date=2023-05-03}}</ref>

Tasnady otherwise spent the majority of his career racing in the Modified divisions competing at the renowned tracks of the northeast, including Nazareth Speedway and Reading Fairgrounds Speedway in Pennsylvania, and Flemington Speedway in New Jersey.<ref>{{cite web| url= https://thethirdturn.com/wiki/Al_Tasnady|title= Al Tasnady Career Results|publisher= The Third Turn| accessdate = May 3, 2023}}</ref> He is thought to be the first modified driver to have an organized fan club, and in 1963 was recognized by the Greater New York Auto Racing Fraternity as the number 1 driver in the country.<ref name="MC1"/>

Tasnady was inducted into the Eastern Motorsports Press Association and the Northeast Dirt Modified Halls of Fame.<ref name="EMP1"/>
