==Geography== A farming area comprising the village and several hamlets situated in the valley of the Creuse, some {{convert|15|km|abbr=on}} southeast of Guéret, at the junction of the D942, D13 and the D18. It was the Roman site of ''Acitodunum'', an important town on the route between Limoges and Clermont-Ferrand.
