Fruit is reddish brown, up to {{Convert|5|cm}} in diameter. The specific epithet ''sympetalum'' is from the Latin meaning "united&nbsp;petals". Habitat is lowland forests from sea level to {{Convert|100|m}} altitude.<ref name=TFSS/>
