He represented [[Bellechasse (federal electoral district)|Bellechasse]] in the [[House of Commons of Canada]] from 1878 to 1881 as a [[Liberal Party of Canada|Liberal]] member.

He was born in [[Saint-Jean-de-l'Île-d'Orléans|St-Jean]], [[Île d'Orléans]], [[Canada East]], the son of Nazaire La Rue and Adelaide Roy. Larue was educated at the Séminaire de Quebec and the [[Université Laval]]. He was admitted to the Quebec bar in 1872 and set up practice in [[Quebec City]].<ref name="avocat">[http://www.ourroots.ca/e/toc.aspx?id=4626 ''Les avocats de la région de Québec'' (1936)] {{webarchive|url=https://web.archive.org/web/20070929105348/http://www.ourroots.ca/e/toc.aspx?id=4626 |date=2007-09-29 }} Roy, PG {{in lang|fr}}</ref> Larue was an unsuccessful candidate for a seat in the House of Commons in an 1875 by-election. He was elected in the [[1878 Canadian federal election|1878 federal election]]; his election was overturned in 1881 after an appeal. He was president of Le Club Canadien. Larue died in Quebec City at the age of 72.<ref name="avocat"/>
