==Design and development== The aircraft features a [[strut-braced]] [[high wing]], a two-seats-in-[[side-by-side configuration]] enclosed cockpit accessed via doors, fixed [[tricycle landing gear]], or, optionally [[conventional landing gear]] with [[wheel pants]] and a single engine in [[tractor configuration]].<ref name="Aerocrafter" />
The aircraft is made from sheet [[aluminum]]. Its {{convert|35.50|ft|m|1|abbr=on}} span high [[Aspect ratio (wing)|aspect ratio]] wing employs a Marsden-designed IARV 419 [[airfoil]], mounts [[Flap (aircraft)|flaps]] and has a wing area of {{convert|136.00|sqft|m2|abbr=on}}. [[Winglet]]s were a factory option to improve low speed handling, lateral control and [[STOL]] performance. The cabin width is {{convert|47|in|cm|abbr=on}} and the wings detach for ground transportation or storage. The acceptable power range for the Griffin Mark III is {{convert|65|to|150|hp|kW|0|abbr=on}} and the standard engines used are the {{convert|100|hp|kW|0|abbr=on}} [[Continental O-200A]], {{convert|80|hp|kW|0|abbr=on}} [[Rotax 912]], {{convert|74|hp|kW|0|abbr=on}} [[Rotax 618]] [[two-stroke]] or the {{convert|100|hp|kW|0|abbr=on}} [[CAM 100]] powerplants. The Griffin Mark III has a typical empty weight of {{convert|840|lb|kg|abbr=on}} and a gross weight of {{convert|1500|lb|kg|abbr=on}}, giving a useful load of {{convert|660|lb|kg|abbr=on}}. With a full fuel load of {{convert|37|u.s.gal}} the payload for pilot, passenger and baggage is {{convert|438|lb|kg|abbr=on}}. The seats are fully adjustable and removable.<ref name="Aerocrafter" />
The fitting of floats and skis was listed as being under development in 1998. The Mark III kit included all-aluminum parts cut and bent, with [[fuselage]], wing and tail assemblies [[Jig (tool)|pre-jigged]]. The aircraft could be bought as four separate sub-kits.
