Dan Pallotta unsuccessfully sued the "copycat" event,<ref>{{cite news| url=https://money.cnn.com/magazines/fsb/fsb_archive/2002/03/01/319484/index.htm | archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20080129151826/http://money.cnn.com/magazines/fsb/fsb_archive/2002/03/01/319484/index.htm | url-status=dead | archive-date=January 29, 2008 | work=CNN | title=Dan Pallotta's bike-tour and walkathon business has raised more than $200 million for AIDS research & other charities.
